I leave in about an hour and right now I am just checking my email and listening to Bob Marley. Nothing interesting. Today we get our cable (a gift from my grandma). Thats all for right now.

News

I got an VERY BAD grade check from my school on Christmas Eve (nice huh). Anyways I have TWO F's and one D. We already knew that I had an F in Geometry and I am currently slowly raising it. I an so close to having a D. The others are in Spanish (not very good since my dad does know spanish) and a D in English (one of my dads best subjects). Luckly I can raise them up by Febuary (when the semster ends). In math its going to take extra work, but if I raised it up 4 points in a week and a half, I can do it.

Update

Ok so I didn't do that well at the track meet, but I have been injured for about a week. My hip has been hurting alot and it pops and hurts when I walk. I started jogging on Wednesday but today it started hurting more. A lady who practices at our school and is coaching us until our coach comes back told me she had the same problem. She said my hip might of gotten out of place and I might need to see a chiropractor. Scary!!

Well thats all until tomorrow. Today was my last day of school!! I am now on Christmas vacation and tomorrow is CHRISTMAS EVE!!

Long Time...

I haven't written in a long time and now I am going to try to write every day.

So I have been sick so I missed two days of school and then didn't do practice because my coach wanted to be safe. SOOO... Coach Cochrane came back and now the practices are harder but fun. The first day he came back I was so tired and all i said was, "Man that felt good!" So on Monday I will go back to my regular schedule.

I have become a recent " movie maker" You can check it on my moms blog.

Well until manana!

Oh I am really mad because there is a Jaci concert in Santa Ana and my mom won't take me. (Mom don't comment!) : )

Yah Jaci!

On Sunday Jaci was on the show Doc. She played a shy church organist who gets picked to be lead singer, but she is too shy to do it. Then she sings and everyone hears her and she loses her shyness and she sings (beautiful).
She sounded great. She acted great too!

Dang Wind!

The wind is so annoying! It was really hard to run against the wind today. It seemed everytime I had to run against it, it would blow harder. So off-season isn't really exciting. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays run. Tuesdays and Thursdays wieght room.
Some people are messed up. You would think joining track, you know your going to run, well...since it evolves around RUNNING. Apparently some people don't know that. People join track then they complain its to hard and ditch. They just don't show up for track, or the really lazy people say "I am sick", "My back hurts" or "I am injured coach". AHHHHH! Those people make me so MAD!

Rain Rain go away!

Since it has been raining track has been boring. It usually either stops raining or sprinkles lightly during practice so we run over to the hill on Wagner and we sprint up. We have been doing it all this week because our field and track are really wet. Everybody is freezing in shorts. You would think some of the girls wouldn't wear tank tops now, but no they still do then they complain about being cold. Well DUH of couse your going to be cold!
Anyways... I hope it stops raining soon and drys up.

Off-Season

Its off season right now and in track its fun while getting into shape. Although sometimes I think the workouts are horrible, they are helping me. For example when I first came in off-season I was running on my heels and getting tired when I would run 5 100s at 80%. Now I am running a mile in my quikest time ever and my coach says my form has gotten way better. I think I am going to do better this year.

So... I found out who was making our workout lists, Coach Wilson! He has been making a list because he is our JV football teams assitent coach and he wants us to get in shape before football is over. Thats why it is harder this year than last year. It's helping though.

I miss the surf

Yes, I am missing the beach and surfing. We have not been surfing in about 5 weeks and our poor surfboard is just sitting in Siobhans "room" and asking to go to the beach and be riden again.

Well Practice today was the same as usual. Warm-up with a slow mile, do some exercises and then stride a lap and jog a lap. What we started doing today was striding a 50 working on form. Right now practice is pretty much the same everyday and I am still wondering when we are going to start lifting.

Man I miss coach Wilson.

First Day of Practice

Second day of school and first day of practice. It was really fun and wasn't that hard just run a lap do some exercises and then run two more laps. It was easy today, but I feel bad for the people that didn't dress out today. On Monday they have to do double the work to make up for today and Monday. Too bad... I told them to dress out today!

Well there are only 11 people doing off season track. I met one of the new girls on the team who is a freashman and she wants to do the longer races. Shes really nice and she asked if she can be my workout partner on Monday to do exercises and to run with. I was alright with that.

Well I am looking forward to this track season and doing 2 relays, long jump, triple jump, the 200 and 400. Man, its going to be a busy year.

*sigh*

What shall I do now? The Olympics are over and won't be on until 4 more years. Why does it have to be every 4 years? Couldn't it be every 3 years? Oh well.

Nothing interesting is happening in my life right now. I am just training for track. i go back to school in less than a week and then will be training at school with my favorite Coach, Coach Hunt.

I guess I am a little excited about school this year. Seeing my coaches and my friends. Downside is HOMEWORK and MATH. This year its geometry.

Well now all there is to write is my process from going to the little varsity girl who could be the best in the OC, to actually being the best.

Sad and good...mostly good!

First the sad news. Yesterday the womens 4x100 relay didn't finish the race. Poor Lauren! She was so sad. Also Allen Johnson, a really good runner in the 110 hurdles, crashed on the last hurdle. That stinks! He would of been 2nd if he hadn't crashed.
Now the GOOD news! Mens 4x100 SILVER! It's not as good as the gold, but they would of gotten it if Mo had one step left they would of had it. I am still so proud of Shawn Crawford and MO they did so well.
Next the 4x400 womens relay got gold! Yah! Go Monique a UCLA Bruin! I am so happy they won. The men got gold too. With a really big lead over the other teams. The US have done pretty well for the track events.

Poor Mo

I can't believe Maurice got 3rd place in the 100 yesterday! Oh well, he's still my favorite runner.

Yesterday was a sad day. Mo lost and Gail didn't finish her race.

Today is a very sad day!

Today Gail Devers didn't even make it over the first hurdle today! I was so sad. She is such a great runner and it was her last Olympics. Well I still support her and she is a terrific runner. A very good role model.

Love you Gail!

In this picture she just came out of a press meeting and I was so nervous because there was a tv camera right over me. Of course my dad said it wasn't pointing towards me and Marion, just Marion. Oh well!

MO and I

King Carl

I had the honor to meet "King Carl Lewis" at the Home Depot Center in Carson. I tried to have him sign a baton that I had Mo Greene, Gail Devers and Marion Jones sign, but he couldn't sign anything that had to do with the track meet so he signed a paper instead. So I walked away half disappointed and half happy. I soon got over it and was so happy and also so tired. I sacked out right after. That was the greatest day of my life. I got to meet the greatest Olympic track athlete ever. I never will forget it.

My Hero

Maurice Greene, the fastest man in the world, is my hero and role model. I have liked him since I was young and I practically know everything about him. I had the privilege to see him run a really fast time at the Home Depot Center. Later I will post the picture of him and I that made the cover of Long Beach Press Telegram.

My only dream now is to see Mo and Ato Boldon together and watch a practice at the UCLA Drake Stadium for a practice. That is one thing I'll work on.

First Blog

I started track when I was about 8 years old. People told me I had the talent to make something of it, but since I was young I didn't take it seriously. I kept it up until I was 10 and played soccer for two years which was a mistake. Those two years took alot of me and when I had my first race in two years in 7th grade I had the most terrable meet I have ever had in my life. In 8th grade I got my "groove" back and was kicking some butt until I had a bad start which ruined my chances of winning.

My first year of high school. I was excited about doing track at a whole new and different level. I had the confidence that I could make it on Varsity and my dad supported me and told me it would be hard. Sure enough my coach put me on Varsity and even pulled me aside and told me I could be the future of my school and even league and Orange County. Now that was a big shock to me. It was the beginning of the season and I wasn't to happy. I was racing against Juniors and Seniors and here I was... a tiny, little, no muscle Freshman who was getting 3rd or 2nd (if I was lucky).

So, the year went by and I had a great track season my first year. I got Varsity Letter and a plaque for "Most Improved Athlete". My olympic dream is still hot and apparently right in my hand if I work for it. So this summer I have been working out getting ready to go back to school and do off season track with one of my coaches. With that also comes its downs. My coach wants me to do the longest sprint, the 400. My worst thought of me is running the 400. UGGG!! I also have to do long jump which isn't that bad.

That is my whole track career so far. My dream of winning gold in the 2008 Olympics in China still is in my sight, but with it comes hard work.
