UCSB Camp Post 1

OK so I am back. I am pretty happy to be home, but I really miss the camp and all of my friends. It was so pretty there and the weather was perfect!
So when I arrived at the train station, a counselor named Diana picked me up and we went to the airport to pick up another girl. When we got to the dorms, I met my new friends Lindsey and Jesse. It ended up that we were actually rooming with each other. Our room had a little living room with a couch and 2 chairs, it also had 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. One room had one bed and the others had 3 beds. There was 6 people in our room plus two commuters during the day. In my room was Lindsey, Laniece and I. In the other was Jesse, Michelle and Gabi. The single was empty.
The first night we had a bonfire with lots of fun games and a chance to get to know everyone, The second night was a game night where we played Amazon Girls, Musical Boys and Frisbee Battle thing. It was a lot of fun. The third night was we got to choose if we wanted to go out to town for ice cream, play soccer or just hang out in the rec room. I chose to go get a smoothie and it was really good (it was banana, pineapple and mango) it was also a good deal. The last night we had another bonfire and then we got to stay up late with free time to hang out with each other because it was our last full day together.
I made a lot of new friends and I still plan to keep in touch with them. My new friends are: Lindsey, Jesse, Amanda, Samantha, Laniece, Aushua, Lauren, Crystal, Vanessa and Shaniece. We hung out all the time, but it was usually Lindsey and I. I also loved the counselors and the coaches. They were all so nice and funny. I really liked the campus too. Its really pretty and its right next to the ocean.
The workouts, man those workouts were the hardest I have ever had, but they are worth it. I can already see that I have lost weight and gained some muscle. The only bad thing that happened to me was I got a minor strain in my right calf, but its not that bad. The coach (Coach Kenyon, but we got to call her Coach JK) were really supportive and the counselor (Diana and Jason) were also very supportive and fun. The practices were hard, but also very fun at the same time. I think they were worth the suffering.

So here was our daily schedule:
7:15 am Wake up
7:30-8:00 am Our morning jog
8:00-9:55 am Time to eat breakfast and free time
10:00-12:00 pm Afternoon Practice
12:00-3:00 pm Lunch and Break
3:00-5:00 pm Late practice
5:00-7:00 pm Dinner and free time
7:00-10:00 pm Night activity and free time
10 pm In rooms
10:30 Lights out
11 pm Had to be asleep

That was our main schedule sometimes it was different it just depended on the day.
I will write more about the fun stuff later. Pictures on my Flickr page

I will put more on later.

Getting ready...

Ok, so there are a few things I must do before I leave on Sunday. I still need to pack my bag and finish cleaning my room. I already have most of my things ready to be packed, but I still need to see if I am missing anything. I don't think I am though.

So I am very excited to go on this trip. It will be my first time taking the train by myself and it seems very fun. I also explained that I would be gone to Siobhan and she understood it as this, "I am going to be gone until next waterplay (which is Thursday. She also thought I was going to go to college and her eyes got all big like they do when she gets excited. It was funny.

I AM DONE!!!

YES! Summer school is finally over and I can have some extra time at home and finish my painting I have been working on. Man I have to tell you that the computer class I took was really boring, but it really did help me with my homekeys. I am typing way faster now and more accurately.

So yes I will be gone this Sunday to Thursday. I will be in Santa Barbara on their campus and will be having lots of fun! (and hard work) Yes I know you will miss me, but don't worry I will post all about it when I get back and some pictures too.

Me and Paulo

Paulo Nagamura (#17 from the Galaxy) and me. I got his shorts and I told him too. My dad said he probably will think I am a stalker or something, but I don't care.

Aquarium of the Pacific

On Monday we went to Long Beach to enjoy a nice lunch and then go to the Aquarium of the Pacific and it was really fun. Of course when we got there the line was really long and it took about 15 minutes to get through. It was really funand Siobhan and Diego had a really good time. Siobhan got freaked out though when we touched the sting rays. She wouldn't even let us touch her with that hand until we washed it. It was funny.

Diego loved the little "Nemos" and "Dories" (haha) and he actually touched things.

Diego touched: sting ray, sea cucumber, starfish, sea slugs and he fed birds.
Siobhan touched: sea cucumber, sea anenome, sea slug, starfish and fed birds.
I touched everything.

Those birds were VICIOUS! I was so scared to touch them because I thought they were trying to bite my finger. What you did was you held out a little bowl of nectar and they eat it. This one bird kept skwaking at me for more. Pretty scary. I didn't like them.

Oh and Siobhan thought jellyfish were cute... yes cute.

Storytime!

Today was my second day at Martinez and I did my first children storytime and yah. . . I was so nervous I don't know why though. I read a total of 4 books and it was pretty fun. 3 english and 1 spanish and I nailed it perfectly. Actually I didn't I messed up on how to say nose, I know it is nariz, but it said another word and I had no idea what it was. The day went really slow we only got 4 families the whole time.
